We recently returned from a trip away, a holiday with a difference. We stayed at a sports resort in Lanzarote for a week as I am currently training for the Virgin Active London Triathlon taking place on 28th July. I am taking part in an Olympic distance triathlon which consists of a 1.5km swim, a 40km cycle and a 10km run and hoping to get to the end in one piece!! I will be raising money for a very worthy cause at the same time, Cancer Research UK and would be very grateful if any of my wonderful blog followers would be kind enough to sponsor me. A donation of just £1 would go a long way and be greatly appreciated. My fundraising page can be found here: http://www.justgiving.com/Morgan-Wiltshire3
There wasn’t much time for relaxing or even taking photographs, but below are a few shots I took in between all the training! Whilst we were there the Spanish were celebrating the midsummer festival of San Juan, where people gather together and create large bonfires on the beach and celebrate with food, drink and friends. Apparently according to tradition, if people jump over a bonfire three times on San Juan’s night, they will be cleansed and purified, and their problems burned away, thankfully there was no jumping over the bonfire when we were there!
