They say if the cows are lying down then it’s going to rain. Given how much of the wet stuff we’ve had of late, I was glad to see this chap standing up. His bovine fellows were lying down, but this guy was a non-conformist. Fed-up with the mud and the wet he was taking a stand. He was representing what it means to stand up and be noticed. He was carpe diem. He was metaphor cow.
My day carried on along a similar theme. I was advised to keep off the tracks, or rather find my own path, before being presented with a view of the sunshine over the other side of that dam wall.
We could all learn something from our friend in the field. Sometimes we need to stand up and be seen as well as being herd.

I love these photos. So much detail. So lovely!
Nice selection, but really like the first.
Fantastic use of perspective on these shots.
Great photos! I love the first photo the most.
These are great! I love the background of the first cow image.
I love the cow in the first shot, great composition! Oh, and thank you for stopping by my blog also. =)
I love these photos – especially that little cow in the first picture! With the exception of the railroad they take me back to where I grew up. =) Great pictures, great read, great post!
Breath taking, as always.
& what a great shot to open with!
Wow!! =)
Love your compositions, choice of subjects and shallow dof. Very thought provoking and memory evoking.
